Got crackle problem. My setup is:


Dimension 8200/2.2/2 Gigs/
- XP Pro/Dedicate/Tweaked
Magma 4 Slot
- Adaptec 39160
- Cheetah 10,000 SCSI
- Hammerfall 96/52
- Exabyte Mammothe
- switched off for music partition

My problem is that audio crackles when recorded on the SCSI. I did some testing and found that when I switch my project folder to the Dimension IDE drive, the crackling went away. So, the problem seems to be with the Magma. I have everything on seperate IRQs. One strange thing is that the Adaptec SCSI Utility has 2 question marks where the PCI slot should be indicated. Please help now, otherwise I'll never become rich and famous.

Try reinstalling the drivers for the adaptec card ( scsi controller ). Those question marks mean the that something isn't right either with the drivers or the card itself. If that doesn't work, try moving the card to a different slot, removing the installed drivers and then reinstalling them again. Good Luck
