what is the typical problem? Is it an electronic component which malfunctions? Bad soldering?

Are bad WR-ADAT cards repairable? It sounds like several folks have been plagued by this problem. Is there anyone who is qualified to repair these things?

Obviously people are willing to shell out some geets for good cards (just check out the bidding war going on in another thread ).

Just curious.

Yeah, I'm curious about that myself.
It's very strange that the card makes more noise when you adjust the LCD contrast. I would think it was a single chip, or maybe even a smaller component, that needs to be replaced. Who else has had this problem?

Nivie Electronics in Brooklyn is a repair depot for DA7 related items. If your card is under warranty, they are also warranty depot(for those who have bought new cards in the last year). We still have a few new WR-ADAT cards available for those interested.

I'm sure its not under warranty - I've been on the road for 6 months, and I know it was at least a year prior to that when I bought the card. I'm just wondering what the problem is, and if its a common situation.
