I just got my Multiface and CIA card and don't track the German slant on installing the program. Can anyone help?

On the RME site there is a link for a fourm in English but it's explained in German, go figure.

I am excited, don't get wet ladies ;\) , to try the 8 channel interface, but feel like a virgin again.

Thanks in advance,

H.

It's their own NNTP newsgroup - try news://news.x-networks.de/rme-audio.forum in your newsreader.

Thanks Copper,

What does that mean? Go to newsgroup then to that address?

If you have a newsreader, pop news.x-networks.de in as one of the NNTP servers to which it should connect. You should see the RME-Audio forum in there.

Or, if you trust your browser maker, copy news://news.x-networks.de/rme-audio.forum and paste it in your address bar. Your browser should fire up the associated newsreader and bring you right to the group.

Charlie,

It hasn't worked in the address bar pasting the address. This is a new facit of computers that I haven't come across yet.

The reason I'm wanting to go there is I finally got my Multiface and CIA card for my lap top and can't get it to show up, guess I'm to used to the American way of hitting the install prompt and everything is golden. So any help is appreciated, thanks.

Hey Ynghermes -

You may want to pick up a lightweight newsreader. If you're using a PC, Outlook Express can work, but it comes with all the baggage of Outlook. |:-) Check out http://tucows.cows.net/news95.html for some freebee Windows news clients. If you're using a Mac, perhaps someone can suggest a good reader. Either way, you'll need to point the client to news.x-networks.de in its server config, and you should see the RME forum displayed once it connects. There's no username required anymore.

I wish I could supply more tech help on the laptop side of things - I've got a Digi96, which is an internal PCI interface (great card, too). The RME forum is excellent, though - Matthias, who writes the drivers, is on there answering questions all the time.

(P.S.: 6/18: I reedited the following. It didn't look as readable today as it did yesterday)

I pasted this: news://news.x-networks.de/rme-audio.forum

into the Location field for Netscape v7.5 and the Address field for Internet Explorer v5.5 and all sorts of stuff popped up:

I don't remember doing anything special with Netscape or IE in the past to make it possible to access Newsgroups.

Thanks Charlie and Bill,

I'm trying to get to Netscape, I couldn't paste from whatever it was that popped up. Mac stuff just seems more friendly to me, and I'm lazy!!!
