Is there any trick to using the inserts on the DA7 (I'm recording with the MX2424)?

I have the Y cable and have identified the in and the out connections. I'm trying to connect a "de-esser" and I'm not sure if it's working or not..

Any suggestions or reminders with this set-up?

Tren,

If you turn the de-seesr all the way on it should take out mass hi end, if not, reverse the cords and see if that helps.

I use that setup, it rocks

You do realize the inserts only work during tracking, not during mixdown. They're part of the mic-preamp end of things...

I had no idea that the inserts were used only for tracking. I guess, that clears some things up for me. More work ahead...

with an ADDA card in slot 3 you can have "real" mixdown inserts at least in your groups!
so have your deesser connected to the ADDA card, configure the inserts in the s/w page and route your vocals throgh a group: voilą

(this is one of the reasons why i bought the DA7)
