Sorry if this has already been answered, but every time I turn off a solo button, I get a loud pop as the mix returns. Is this a version issue? I think I have version 1.02.
thanks, Please respond to tek@caldvd.com

Sounds like a wordclock problem. Check your settings in the D-I/O Setup Window on the top panel of the DA7. If it stops when you have selected INT at either 44.1kHz or 48kHz, then your out of WC sync with the digital devices conneted to your DA7.

Try downloading the Appplication Guide posted on this site it's very informative when it comes to WC issues and different equipment set-up.
My 2 cents.

Hi guys,

I am experiencing the same problem. When ever I unsolo a track I get a click or pop in the monitors. This is not a wordclock problem. I am running two desks in tandem and the wordclock is correct, because I have no problems anywhere else.

There are far to many people experiencing this problem.

Cheers Mick...

Well, I'm not sure I could call 2 instances "far too many", but anyways. You two guys should check your SOLO/MON page. Check the status of your POSITION, MODE, MUTE and SOLO LEVEL settings. My particular settings for these 4 are:

POSITION: IN PLACE
MODE: SOLO
MUTE: OFF
SOLO LEVEL: 2.6db

I have found these settings to be useful. My guess is that you two may have some kind of wild settings on one of these parameters that is causing your clicking. Give these settings a try and report your results back for the rest of the group.

Lifted from the User Guide:

When connecting recording devices to the DA7, such as a DAT, ADAT, DA88 or a similar device, pay attention to the fact that these devices ALL operate using a wordclock reference signal. It is therefore important that you make sure that they are all referenced to the same clock signal.

This is the reason that we have provided a WORDCLOCK IN and OUT connector on the rear panel. You can also select one of the option Slots to be the master wordclock, or the 2TR A source.
This is a VERY important item in proper operation of any digital audio system. Please make sure that you set this function properly. Poor sound quality can result from improper wordclock operation. It can
also affect the operation of the DA7. For example, the SOLO system may seem to malfunction by not selecting a particular channel or channels. This can be due to Clock related issues.

See Chapter 17,
Options for specific information regarding the connection requirements of these devices. Also see Chapter 12, D-I/O for setting the master wordclock source. If after reading this information you are
unsure of the operation or setup of this function, please consult your
dealer.

Don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger.
