I recently did a session with a guitarist the required headphone volume equivalent to the sound level at ground zero of the blast at Hiroshima.
I'd like to find a set or two of loud cheap headphones to offer up as sacrificial cows should the situation arise again.
I don't care about sonic quality for these as at the levels requested by the user in question deafness would most likely occur within seconds of use.
I just want to save my $100 headphones from the abuse.

Any recommendations for loud cheap "disposable" headphones?

Hopi,

I have a couple of pair of More-Me's just for this purpose: $20, and aren't hi-fi etc., but suffice for extra cans, and at the price, disposible ones. One caveat: they have a very short cable (6") but actually is a great design - the "talent" can never step on the cable, ripping the innards out - the 1/4 (or 1/8 )" connector just comes out instead of the headphone guts!

Contact Harvey Gerst - he makes them, and offers repair/replacement for one year!

Hope this helps,

Koss TD-65.
About the same price as the Moreme.
If they break, for a 5 buck service charge, Koss will replace them no questions asked. Lifetime.

Those More Me cans look like Califone classroom/study lab headsets, hence the short cable.

These look more like ITR's deluxe model with the padded band. I don't know how the innards compare though.

Harvey's MoreMe are said to have 60mm drivers while the Califone 3068 has 40mm. They're probably all around 100mw pwr handling (half of what AKG 141 & 240 take).
Califone specs down on the left:

These Pyramids look similar, and have 2.25" drivers:
