I am about to bring home a DA7 and was woundering if I will have some of the soposed problems with say the talk back mic etc..

I know that sometime under production fixes happen and they are implemented at certain serial numbers etc... is that the case or is it basicly all DA7's except the new MK2?

The talkback mic problems are not really problems. The nature of the talkback mic problem is that the relative volume to mix changes, and it takes moment to do so. This can result in feedback, or it can mean that you don't hear what you want to hear while talkback is on.

Some people would rather that mix be cut out altogether (instantly). Some people would rather that the drop of mix drop be configurable.

It's really depends on the way you use the DA7, how close the speakers are from the mics, volume of the mix, etc. It is possible to get feedback, and your conditions may mean you get feedback.

I have has few issues with the DA7, but nothing insurmountable. It's no different than any other board. It's not perfect. It doesn't mix for you. If you get feedback you have to learn how to eliminate it. If you can't hear what you want to hear, you have to learn how to make it so you can.

That's the bottom line. Buy the board. It's a good board. It's got some quirks, but nothing major.

I've been working... I've just slowed down on the message thing. Did the effort vs. return eval and decided to cut back on the web surfing. It can usurp lot's O' time.
