Looking into upgrading my mastering software. Have a finalizer plus, but havn't used it much lately. Looked into a TDM plugin version, but the tech dude at TC said it wasn't much more than the original Finalizer.

Suggested the system 6000, PT plugin version, MD3. About 1k. Said basicly it's their flagship mastering software.

I have and have used waves mastering in my PC but i've noticed it can sound alittle flat and a slight loss in detail.

Anyway, anyone here know about the MD3? Or used it ect...

Hey Jeremy,

I've used the 6000 a bunch and really dig it as far as digital processors go. I've never tried the new MD3, but if it's anything like the 6000 it'll be worth it. Let me know what you think if you get it.

I've got a TC Powercore Firewire with the MD3 and Restoration stuff added. I ALMOST bought the Sony Oxford stuff for it today, but played with the new TC VSS3 Reverb for a while and OH MY!!

Anyway, the MD3 is incredible. At least with the Powercore setup, I can use it with PTHD, PTLE or DP and move it from room-to-room or machine-to-machine. The System 6000 is big bucks, but I got into the Powercore along with the MD3 for not much over $2300.

Worth looking into, especially with TC releasing v2 of the Powercore software real soon.

BTW, there's a large group of people that have been beta testing the latest version of fXpansion's Vst2rtas software which will convert ALL TC plugs to work with PTHD via RTAS (actully pushing the processing to the Powercore).

Works great!!

I need to move on from what i've been using as far as mastering. Waves Mastering bundle on my PC sounds lack luster. Lately I've been mastering on an aux out of PTHD using tracks, but it has problems, but does sound better than tracks in my PC.

Need to move onto a higher end mastering software. The MD3 looks pretty good so far.

If you're using a PC (Windoze) try Har-Bal .

Don't use the 8-bit demo! Spend the $95 on the full program. If you don't like it after 30 days you can get a full refund. The two guys (Paavo and Earle) that run Har-Bal are straight up and extremely helpful.

I made my investment back after 32 bars.

This application really works.
