Producers of 'American Idol' and 'So You Think You Can Dance' hope to extend success to older generation.

A new reality series from the producers of 'American Idol' hopes to find it's audience in those viewers turned off by the hip-hop and rap and diva-like wailing of the current offerings by bringing back, you guessed it, The Beatles. Pre-production has started on the tenatively titled "Who Can be a Beatle?". The gist of the show is that a talent search for the best 'Beatle Band' will be conducted in New York, Chicago, and Los Angles this fall. Producer Simon Fuller states 'my own resurgence of interest in Beatles Music led me to discover that there are hundreds of so called Beatle Bands across America, and twice as many John and Paul sound and look-alikes. We're going to find the best of the lot and throw them together in competition". Professional Beatle Tribute acts need not apply, though. Fuller added "I am aware of professional acts such as 1964-The Tribute, and The Fab Four, and those lads are our standard but not eligible --we're looking for the weekend Beatle Bands and closet Lennons and Ringos." Ads in Variety and The Hollywood Reporter will start appearing next week with casting call information.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah...

Proof positive that the Earth is hurling hopelessly toward the Sun at break-neck speed, soon to destroy all of mankind and its culture.

Actually, the Fab Faux based here in NYC is big fun to see. They're some of the best musicians in town and take the band and arrangements very seriously, right down to the exact guitar and bass models. I saw them play The White Album one night. If you closed your eyes you felt as if you were at a real Beatles show. They also play a lot of songs that the Beatles never toured. Catch them sometime, you won't regret it.

I knew Will Lee was part of the group, but just heard the whole group on Howard Stern and holy sh*t sounded great.

Check this out:

These guys use the same exact equipment Floyd used in '71...they're obsessive about it. Nick Heyward's brother is in the band.....

"They toured The White Album?"

Well, the 'White' album was released Nov. 1968. The Beatles played on the 'Roof Top', Jan. 1969. Unfortunately, this 'impending' tour was curtailed halfway through 'Get Back'.

It not very well known, but according to the set-list taped on 'the BASS', the next song, following 'Get Back', would've been 'Back in the U.S.S.R', followed by 'Dear Prudence' and so on...

So following this logic, yes, the Beatles were intending on touring in support of the 'White' album.

Interestingly, McCartney's 'other' Hofner (his first one, Cavern Bass) was stolen during the filming of 'Let It Be'. It is the one he played in the 'Revolution' video, and probably on the track. It still has not surfaced. McCartney played 'the BASS' during the 'Roof Top' concert.

Like during the guitar solo or there abouts?

No, I think it was 'Back In The USSR', 'Revolution 9', and then 'Dear Prudence' (my first favorite song on the white album when it came out).
