The RAMSA WR- AD/DA card is a 20-bit, 16 channel converter card for the DA7 mixer with 8-channel of analog-to-digital and 8-channel digital-to-analog conversion. It connects externally using a pair (2) db-25 connectors one for input signals and one for output signals. The last published retail list- price for the card was $875.00.

Depending on what functions the WR-AD/DA is being used for; either analog expansion or 3rd card SLOT insertion there could be other viable alternatives.

For instance, if it’s only being used for additional analog inputs than any multi-channel outboard A/D (even old ADAT recorders) with ADAT –litepipe outputs could be used with the WR-ADAT card for addition analog inputs using the recorder’s A/D’s.

The mixers 3rd SLOT insertion capability allows for any of the mixers option cards (ADAT, TDIF, AES or AD/DA) to operate as inserts across the mixers 8-buses, auxes, and L/R master bus in which case external A/D and D/A’s could also function.

In the event that the WR-AD/DA is impossible to find, there are many freestanding multi-channel AD/DA devices on the market that could function with the DA7 mixer and its option cards.

Good luck with your search,

Interesting points Maric, and I did think of the idea of putting an Adat in line to convert.... It's a bummer that they are only 20 bit... maybe I'll go get an AI3 from Alesis... that was 24 bit.

it's was only 399 new a couple of years ago, s hopefully ebay will know where to get one a little cheaper than that.

Any ideas on converters that won't break the bank but will do the job?
