We've got two older PT systems and just upgraded one of the CPUs to a G4/500 but the original (4.3) version of PT won't run on OS9. I'm trying to find a copy of v5.0.1 (at least) which will work with our DSP farm cards. Nick, correct me if I'm wrong, but the Digi site says that v5.1 and higher needs the d24 cards, right?

Anyone with an old copy of 5.0.1 that I can buy cheap? I don't want to spend a lot of time and money on this because we'll be moving everything over to SADiE Series 5 in a few months... I just want a little more speed!!

thanks

I'm running 5.1.1 (on MIX hardware), Eric. It's supposed to be the same as 5.1.3 except that it doesn't have Rocket Network - which I don't need.

The compatibility docs don't seem to say what the minimum software version is for D24 systems, but they ship with 5.1.3 (and I didn't know they were still selling it!). Is that what you're asking?

Naw, what we've got is the old DSP cards feeding either an 882 or 888 (both are 16-bit). The jump to 24-bit required the d24 boards and upgraded I/O. Obviously DigiDesign is in the hardware business, eh?

Thanks for the reply!!

Hey Nick, thanks for the help but I think we found a way to cover our tails, and it seems to be working... at least with the 882. We're going to pull over a couple of Projects from the 888 and see how the G4/500 likes it.

Thanks again!!!
