Team,

It appears following recent rumours and by checking stock at some local suppliers that it is true that Yamaha have stopped making the NS 10.

That being the case what is the reference nearfield now ?

Before, it was easy. Every man, woman and child had access to a pair of NS 10's. It's not that they are great, or average, or s h i t e.

They are a reference.

What are the team using ?

What are the team's suggestions for the "New Ns 10"

Am I wrong to think that it's important to have a reference ?

I acept that Joe/Jolene's home stereo has got better, but does that mean the NS 10 no longer has a place in the Studio ?

Are Yamaha mad (Why they would stop doing it when they could bring out a Mk 2, or an active NS 10.)?

Your thoughts, as always, are most appreciated.

In most places, the NS-10 still is THE nearfield. So it's not a question of replacing them. It's is question of getting some. I have DynAudio's along side my NS-10s, but I for one won't be giving away my 10s anytime in the future. I was lucky enough to score my pair from a Dealer nearby who had them in his workshop.

Ramsa WP1400 + Ramsa WS-A70E-K's + van-damme pro speaker cable.

just love the sound.

i've got the Genelec 1029A+7050A too, but they don't sound half as easy to listen to.

i'm sure i saw someone on Ebay Uk selling two or three WP1400 Amps at a go. wished i'd picked another up now. they still about a £grand in japan i think.
