Are the pots in our desks accessible by spray cleaner or are they totally sealed?

While I hope I can get an honest answer feel free to throw in snarky puns and comebacks too. This forum never fails to deliver.

They are not totally sealed, but you can not get into them from the top. The shaft does seal fairly well, so just spraying into them from the top won't do much (faders excepted of course)

You can get to the back of the pots and get into them at the crimp point. It's definitely a pain to get there, and will require some disassembly to get to the boards.

Sorry to give a response to an actual hardware question .. I'm sure someone will fill in and bring this back on-topic.. all distorted politics, all the time.

Thanks Joe, your suggestions are helpful as usual.

Rather than being too conservative, I think I'll try a liberal amount of cleaner in there.

Chucklefart, I say yea. Joe is right on. As usual. I cleaned the whole board in one day. It shouldn't take much longer if you have the right tools and skills. (Tho, with a 6-pack or two, it might take a bit longer)

"It shouldn't take much longer if you have the right tools and skills."

And of course the correct political agenda! Sorry I couldn't resist... FWIW I generally prefer Brillo when cleaning pots, but I will occasionally use one of those synthetic scouring pads as well... wink

I prefer an old gatefold album cover when cleaning my pot.

You can catch all the stems and seeds in the crease easily.

Is it politically correct to say that?

Oh so that's where the term 'stem' mixing came from.

As for the original subject, yeah it was way simple to do.
