Gee .. is this the new wing of FauX? Beats me. I provided the link so you can cast your vote in the unscientific, meaningless poll.

Eight years of horrendous leadership will take some time to reverse. What does that have to do with the poll? This is a survey (according to people who participate in the CBS poll) of how the current administration is doing with the specific issues.

All the Republicans are interested in is being in power, that's all they care about. They spent 8 years trying their best to tear Clinton down, now Obama. There is something very sick about these people.
Basicly they want Obama to fail. They want the president of the United States to fail, they want to country to fail, so they can look good, a "told you so" moment.
These people are evil, period, there is no other excuse for what they are trying to do. Why are such "christians" so full of hate and anger? I've been trying to understand what is going on inside their heads.
It's based on christian beliefs. They want the country to be a christian country. Like believers in Islam want there government to be based on Islamic beliefs. They focus on abortion, keep repeating the lie that governemnt well pay for abortions, that it is in the bill, when it is not.
They spread lie after lie, using fear tactics to convince people of these lies. There are enough dim witted people out there who well believe them, or maybe blinded by their christian hatred, want to believe them.

Yes, but my Catholic upbringing taught me the rationality behind their "Lie often and proud" - they think that a simple "confession" in private is all that is needed to preserve "salvation".
Just when exactly did the republicans think that they OWN Christianity? I would tend to think those that call themselves Christian but stand for their unethical and contant lies are NOT Christians. I don't recall the chapter and verse that says "Lie to those that don't agree with you for your personal benefit". It may be in the Catholic "additions", but I never read them.

Polls can be very misleading.
If I were to vote my disapproval of the health care bill (because I believe it's not progressive enough) then due to conservative media bias my vote would be misconstrued to mean I believe it to be too liberal.... Yep

This is a survey (according to people who participate in the CBS poll) of how the current administration is doing with the specific issues. It has everything to do with it. People disapprove because they are expecting miracles and fast, and they're not getting that. Well sorry, it's going to be a long, slow road back for this country.

As for the poll, I think it shows how the majority of people think Obama is doing. Change=more of the same.

Almost everything you're saying is bullshit, ExcelAV. Sorry. It's just horrible to read people believing that nonsense.
1. The United States is not a Christian country, it's a diverse country. We have a Judeo-Christian heritage in the West, and Christianity is the largest religion in this country, but that's very different from saying we're a Christian country.
2. Right-wing religious freaks were a big part of the coalition that elected that asshole Bush. The Republicans are perfectly happy to exploit those fools in the most hypocritical way to gain power.
3. Your understanding of economics is as wrong as the whole Republican party's, and they're a bunch of asshole morons with nothing to offer the country. No they don't care about the country for the most part; they care about regaining power.
4. It would be irresponsible for the government to pull back from supporting the economy by cutting spending right now. The economy would really crash and unemployment would go much higher.
Nobody is saying you can spend your way out of *debt*, the argument is that increasing the deficit now is way better than the consequences of not doing that. The millions of people who still have jobs becaus of the stimulus understand that very well. When the economy picks up again is the time to deal with it, because then the tax base will go up. We're going to have deficits either way.
5. Everything you're saying about the healthcare bill is disgusting and a repeat of a lie. Everything. The healthcare bill will not put the country deeper in debt, it will reduce costs and reduce the deficit over time. Tens of thousands of people die every year because they don't have coverage, and this will insure 30 million more people.
6. The country voted in a Democratic president and Congress to reform health insurance, and they're doing that. Bills passed the House and the Senate with a clear majority. this is not something being crammed down the public's throat, it's a gift. The only reason as many people are opposed to it as are is that they've been fed a steady diet of hideous lies for the past year. And we saw lots of them in the healthcare summit yesterday. The Republicans SUCK.
7. Reconciliation requires 51 votes in the Senate. It's not a minority. Meanwhile the Bush tax cuts for the rich, which are responsible for a huge part of our national debt right now, were pushed through by reconciliation.
8. Fuck central Massachusetts and fuck the Republican party.

Polls can be very misleading. Especially when you disagree with them. My point is that many poll questions are slanted and/or incomplete and simplified to such a degree as to make a yes or no vote irrelevant. Joseph, Do you approve or disapprove of the way political candidates eat small children? No comments now, just check one. I approve. I disapprove. Results of this poll show that most Americans support my belief that politician's table manners are atrocious. Do you A- think Zumbido should run for president as a republican in 2012 or B- think Zumbido should run for president as an independent in 2012? Wow, it seems like an overwhelming percentage of Americans polled believe Zumbido should run for president in 2012!

No, Jeff, it sucks that we have the political climate Paul Krugman described so well in his blog today: http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/02/27/youre-so-vain/Excerpts: It goes like this: Person A says “Black is white” — perhaps out of ignorance, although more often out of a deliberate effort to obfuscate. Person B says, “No, black isn’t white — here are the facts.”
And Person B is considered to have lost the exchange — you see, he came across as arrogant and condescending.
Here’s how I see it: in our current political culture, the background noise is overwhelmingly one of conservative platitudes. People who have strong feelings about politics but are intellectually incurious tend to pick up those platitudes, and repeat them in the belief that this makes them sound smart. (Ezra Klein once described Dick Armey thus: “He’s like a stupid person’s idea of what a thoughtful person sounds like.”)
Inevitably, then, such people react with rage when they’re shown up on their facts or basic logic — it’s an attack on their sense of self-worth.

Love the irony of reading this as Justin runs a Newsmax.com banner ad above that reads: "Obama care...Stop Him! Vote here now"
As Nick said, more background noise, devoid of facts and meant to only distract.

Jeremy, and I say this with respect, you need to grow up. Nobody is here, including me, is out to be your big brother, censor you or control your mind. As I have for years now, I'm just trying to maintain a shred of decorum. So please, act like an adult and treat others as you would like to be treated - with respect. If you'd taken the time to read and understand my previous post, I don't control the ads, they are automatically placed by Google Adsense based on it's algorithm. In other words, Google scans the content of the page and matches it to it's database of paid ads.
And by the way, this is primarily an audio forum - not a place for you to run for Congress.

I just have to point out that this is twice now that Hopi has said this: Polls can be very misleading. Wow, it seems like an overwhelming percentage of Americans polled believe Zumbido should run for president in 2012! ...about this particular poll and it's simply not true. This poll was a simple "apply a grade" poll. There are no questions or double meaning that can be implied. The questions are direct, single-response questions and the answers to the questions are unmistakable responses: Included with the question itself and it is reflected as such.

Yes, if you want a long running thread, we only need to talk about how good Bush was for the country. See how much better off we are 8 years after he started? No more pesky other countries trying to be our friends - it's much easier to calculate stock values without using up so many digits.
