Da7 + RME Hammerfall Not Happening? :(

Hello There,
I'm somewhat of a new DA7 user so I am throwing this one out to anyone and hopefully I'll be able to find my miracle answer.
I can't seem to properly sync my Da7 with 2 ADAT option cards to the RME Hammerfall 96/52 audio card. I'm definitely not a sync wizzard...but I have tried (I think) everything. It seems as though poor audio quality and pops and clicks won't ever go away. I also tried messing configuring the Hammerfall control panel with no luck.
Thanks in advance for any help I get.
Kane : :p

Maric,
These are good standard suggestions, but there seems to be particularities between equipment locking together consistently. Normally, I use a Frontier Designs Dakota card on my master setup that syncs great with the DA7.
In my 2nd system, I use a Mixtreme card (TDIF) in conjuntion with a Tascam D-1000 (TDIF) and a Frontier Tango 8-ch. ADDA, adapted by a Tascam IFTAD (Adat to TDIF converter). Similarly it locks tightly and works great.
However, when my primary system went down, I spent almost half a day trying every possible permutation to get the Da7 to lock with the Mixtreme. Never happened! I had to give up, and I'm currently running through an analog Mackie 1202 until I get my Dakota-based computer rebuilt.
Anybody else having success with either RME or Mixtreme products, in conjuntion with the DA7?
Craig

Hello everybody,
It took me a couple of days to try every possible suggestion. I recall reading a thread by Keyplayer when it turned out to be a P.C issue. Not the case with my Mac, unfortunately. I will list my harware and list my detailed problems. (It starting NOT to sound like a Clock issue).
Mac Dual G4 450MH, 1.9 gig ram, 100+GB, Atto Ultra160 SCSI card, ATI Radeon 8500 Dual Video card
DA7 with 2 ADAT option cards (DA7 term switch set to "out/on")
Hammerfall 96/52 with 75ohm BNC cables used for word clock. (T-Adaptor and termination cap plugged into the "in" of the Hammerfall). -96/52 configured to "auto sync" and slaved. (DA7 is the master: Di/o set to 44.1)
Logic 6.0 ________
The main problem now seems to be that through ADAT ch 1-8 only I am getting pops and clicks either on playback or record. The clickng is there even when I don't have Logic booted up. **The real kicker is that when I only have zero or 1 audio track playing through the board the clicking is very minor. As I increase the amount of Audio tracks the more consistent the pops and clicks. If I play all channels 1-8 with audio it sounds like I threw water on a very hot oily pan.
I have tried everything from making the RME the master, removing PCI cards frrom my Mac, turn off unsed extensions, new BNC cables, exchanging my 96/52 card for a new one, tried latest 96/52 drivers, turning the DA7 term switch off.
But there is only one weird result that seems to get rid of the clicks and pops.
When I set the DA7 to 48k and the 96/52 shows that it is syncing, the pops and clicks go away. But all my audio in Logic plays backs fast ...even after I try to change the Sync to 48k in Logic. All my previous recordings in Logic were at 44.1k.
I am thinking of trying the MOTU 2408mk3.
Please help me if any of this sounds familiar.
Thanks a billion. Kane

Doh.
I bought these Adat option cards from Don at Promedia over the net. I think if that's the problem I'm screwed.
Maybe there is a way I can check the Version of the ADAT card to be sure?.
Thanks,
Kane

Dan, please read my response to your email this morning. For all you other DA7.com members...all cards and cables that have been purchased from me are new and under warranty. Any card found defective will be either replaced or repaired by Panasonic. We purchased all remaining stock from Panasonic late last year. Another thing to note is that the defect rate on these cards is extremely low, less than 1%. We stand behind what we sell (just had to get that off my chest)! Donn

Maric...(if you're out there?), You were right. After I tried a few things...actually, I tried Everything!., it turned out to be one of my Adat option cards. Thanks again for the help guys. Kane
